Discovery Chankanaab Básico
Description
Chankanaab, one of nature's masterpieces, since it was declared a National Park in 1980, has been considered a special area for the protection and refuge of the region's fauna and flora.
Its name comes from the Mayan language, which translates as "small sea" and refers to the natural lagoon located inside the park. The lagoon surrounds the mystical ruins of the ancient Mayan civilizations. Perhaps it was also a refuge for pirates seeking to stock up on areas or hidden places to store their precious treasures. It is located within the Cozumel National Marine Park at kilometer 9 of the coastal road south of Cozumel.
Enjoy the beautiful adventure park at Chankanaab beach and spend the day snorkeling or diving while admiring the tropical fish, colorful reefs and underwater sculptures. You can also enjoy a handmade tortilla in our Mayan house, visit the crocodile farm, watch the sea lion show, or perhaps relax with a massage in front of the lagoon that gives the park its name. These are just some of the many activities you can enjoy at Chankanaab.
Everything related to adventure, fun and tranquility comes together in one place: Chankanaab. During your visit, you will discover that you are part of a natural reserve that offers a swimming and diving area that will allow you to get closer to the aquatic universe and contemplate the sculptures of Christ and the Virgin.
