We created the Dolphin Encounter program for people of all ages. Dolphin Discovery-Isla Mujeres is located only 20 minutes away by ferry from Isla Mujeres, an island with one of the most beautiful landscapes in the Caribbean Sea.

The most incredible thing about this program is that you will actually get to swim with the most adorable marine animals in their natural habitat in the Caribbean! You don't need to be a professional swimmer to have the best dolphin experience because at all times you will be standing on an underwater platform where our beloved dolphins will give you an adorable kiss and a wet but warm hug and greeting.

The dolphins are always happy to play with our visitors, as well as share their amazing skills and friendly company. While you are on the platform, our marine mammal specialists will share interesting facts about dolphins such as their diet, breeding programs and care, as well as some tips to protect our environment.

HOW TO GET TO DOLPHIN DISCOVERY ISLA MUJERES:

IF YOU ARE IN ISLA MUJERES ...

You can find us at Camino Sac Bajo Lote 26, Laguna Mar, if you don't have a car, just take a cab to Dolphin Discovery, the driver will know where to take you.


Golf carts are rented all over the island and are the perfect means of transportation, you can check our map for the exact location of where we are.

IF YOU ARE IN CANCUN ...
If you are staying in the hotel zone, the easiest way to get to the starting point is to take the bus to Playa Langosta located on Boulevard Kukulcan (hotel zone) at kilometer 5, or to Marina Aquatours you will also find cabs that will take (for about 10-30 USD depending on where you are) but we recommend the bus as it is cheaper (about 1 USD per person) and easier than a cab.

Remember that we have 1 free ferry service that leaves at 9:00 a.m. and returns at 5:30 p.m. according to your booked program:

From Playa Langosta for all swim with dolphins programs and garrafon + swim with dolphins program.

Please note that the arrival point for the return trip will be at Playa Langosta. Consider this information if, for example, you leave a car at Marina Aquatours. Playa Langosta is 2 kilometers (1.2 miles) from Marina Aquatours.


***Remember to arrive 40 minutes early to check in and receive your identification bracelet. This is very important as without it you will not be allowed to board the ferry.

Recommendations

  • Children over 1.41 m can participate alone in any of our dolphin programs at the adult rate.
  • Children from 1 year old and up to 1.40 m may participate in the Encounter program accompanied by a paying adult.
  • Pregnant women less than 5 months old may participate in the Encounter program if accompanied by another paying adult and after signing a waiver.
  • You must pay for the dockage at check-in just before boarding. The use of life jackets is mandatory in all water programs. In Isla Mujeres, this program admits groups with a maximum of 20 people. Cameras are not allowed in the water. Professional photographs will be available for purchase.
  • Don't forget to use biodegradable sunscreen to protect your skin, the environment and marine species.
  • Remember to arrive 30 minutes before your program as you will receive an orientation beforehand.
  • We recommend you bring towels, as well as cash for cabs, shopping, meals and other expenses.
